One Welfare Membership Badge-use Conditions
Friends of One Welfare & One Welfare Ambassador Membership
Friends of One Welfare & One Welfare Ambassador Membership
These conditions govern use of the official membership badge supplied to an active One Welfare Friend or One Welfare Ambassador. They form part of the One Welfare Membership Terms & Conditions and apply for as long as the relevant membership remains active.
1. What the membership badge means - A One Welfare membership badge is a membership mark. It provides a visible way to communicate that the named individual has active membership at the level shown on the badge and supports the One Welfare approach.
The badge does not constitute professional certification, accreditation, approval, supervision or endorsement of the member, their employer, organisation, research, advice, products, services or activities.
Where an Ambassador badge includes wording confirming completion of the One Welfare Foundation Course, that wording confirms completion of that course only. It does not represent professional certification or accreditation.
2. Ownership and permission to use the badge - Use only the official membership badge supplied to you by One Welfare CIC.
- All rights in the One Welfare name, logos and membership badges are owned by, or licensed to, One Welfare CIC or the relevant rights-holder.
- Your permission to use the badge is personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable.
- Permission applies only to the badge for your current membership level and only while that membership remains active.
- Membership does not provide unrestricted permission to use the main One Welfare logo.
3. Permitted uses - While your membership is active, you may display the supplied badge on appropriate personal or professional channels, including:
- your personal or professional website;
- social media and LinkedIn profiles;
- email signatures;
- professional biographies and speaker profiles; and
- ·presentations or materials where the badge is used to identify your current membership status.
- “I am a Friend of One Welfare.”
- “I am a member of the Friends of One Welfare community.”
- “I am a One Welfare Ambassador.”
- “I am an active member of the One Welfare Ambassador community.”
- “I support the One Welfare approach.”
4. Do not alter or transfer the badge - Do not alter the badge wording, colours, proportions, design or visual elements.
- Do not add your organisation name, product name, service name or other wording inside the badge.
- Do not transfer, sell, assign, sublicense or provide the badge for use by another person or organisation.
- Do not create or distribute derivative, unofficial or replacement versions of the badge.
5. Do not imply certification, approval or endorsement - You must not use the badge, membership title or One Welfare name in a way that could reasonably lead another person to believe that One Welfare CIC has certified, accredited, approved, supervised or endorsed you, your employer, organisation, research, advice, products, services or activities.
Examples of wording to avoid include:
· “One Welfare certified” or “certified by One Welfare”;
· “accredited by One Welfare”;
· “One Welfare approved”;
· “endorsed by One Welfare”; or
· any equivalent claim suggesting that membership is a professional or product approval scheme.
6. Commercial, product and advertising use - You may truthfully refer to your individual membership in professional or commercial communications, including advertising, provided the context clearly communicates your personal membership status and does not suggest that One Welfare CIC approves or endorses a product, service, business or organisation.
You must not use the badge on product packaging, labels, point-of-sale materials or as a product or service approval mark. You must not use it in commercial advertising in a way that suggests that One Welfare CIC has certified, approved or endorsed a product or service. Any such use requires prior written authorisation from One Welfare CIC.
7. Organisations, employers and third parties - Individual membership does not automatically extend to your employer, company, institution, team or other organisation. An organisation must not present an individual member's badge as evidence that the organisation itself is a One Welfare member, certified organisation or endorsed organisation unless One Welfare CIC has expressly authorised this in writing.
If the badge appears on a page operated by your employer or organisation, its placement and accompanying wording should make clear that it relates to you personally as the named member.
8. Main One Welfare logo and other intellectual property - The main One Welfare logo, course marks, project logos, graphics and other One Welfare intellectual property are separate from the membership badge. Membership does not give you a general licence to use them. Any use outside the rights expressly granted in these Badge-use Conditions requires prior written permission from One Welfare CIC or the relevant rights-holder.
9. Badge validity, expiry and termination - The badge may only be displayed while the relevant membership is active. Permission to use the badge ends if your membership expires, is cancelled, is suspended or is terminated, or if One Welfare CIC withdraws badge permission in accordance with the Membership Terms & Conditions.
When permission ends, you must stop using the badge and remove it from websites, social media profiles, email signatures, biographies and other materials as soon as reasonably practicable. If One Welfare CIC directs immediate removal because of serious misuse, you must comply promptly.
Renewal of membership renews badge permission for the new active membership period, subject to the Badge-use Conditions and Membership Terms in force at that time.
10. Misuse and enforcement - If One Welfare CIC believes the badge or One Welfare identity is being used incorrectly, it may ask you to amend or remove the use, suspend badge permission, or take action under the One Welfare Membership Terms & Conditions. Serious or repeated misuse may result in termination of membership and withdrawal of badge permission.
One Welfare CIC reserves all rights and remedies available to protect its name, intellectual property and community.
11. If you are unsure - If you are unsure whether a proposed use is appropriate, contact One Welfare CIC before using the badge. A short clarification in advance can help avoid misleading use.

12. Relationship with the Membership Terms - These Badge-use Conditions should be read together with the One Welfare Membership Terms & Conditions. If your membership ends for any reason, badge permission also ends. Nothing in these conditions grants rights beyond those expressly stated.
