One Welfare Membership Terms & Conditions

Friends of One Welfare & One Welfare Ambassador Membership

These Terms apply when you purchase or renew an individual One Welfare membership from One Welfare CIC. By ticking the acceptance box and completing payment, you agree to these Terms and to the Badge-use Conditions applicable to your membership.

1. Who we are - One Welfare CIC is a community interest company registered in England and Wales under company number 11376147. Our registered office is Suite 140, Temple Chambers, 3-7 Temple Avenue, London, England, EC4Y 0DA. “One Welfare World” is used as a public-facing name for One Welfare CIC activities.

2. Membership covered by these Terms - These Terms apply to individual Friends of One Welfare membership and One Welfare Ambassador membership. The membership level, price, benefits and any included learning are those shown on the relevant membership page and at checkout when you join or renew.
Membership is personal to the named member and may not be transferred to another person or organisation.

3. When your membership starts and how long it lastsYour membership starts when payment has been successfully completed and your membership is confirmed, unless a different start date is stated at checkout or in your confirmation email.
Unless otherwise stated, membership is valid for 12 months. Your confirmation email should record your membership start date and renewal or end date.

4. Fees and payment·       The membership fee and currency are shown before you complete payment.
·       Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Their payment-processing terms and privacy information may also apply.
·       You are responsible for providing accurate payment and contact information.
·       Membership benefits may be withheld or suspended if payment is reversed, fails or remains outstanding.

5. Renewal and cancellationThe renewal method applying to your membership will be shown at checkout or in your membership confirmation. Where renewal is automatic, the renewal frequency, renewal price or method for determining it, and how to cancel future renewal should be made clear before purchase.
You may cancel a future renewal using the cancellation method provided by One Welfare CIC or the relevant payment provider. Unless required by law or stated otherwise in these Terms, cancelling future renewal does not normally create a refund for the remaining part of a membership period that has already been paid for.

6. Consumer cancellation rightsIf you purchase membership online as a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights. Nothing in these Terms limits or removes those rights.
Where membership benefits, services or digital learning are made available during a statutory cancellation period, any consent or acknowledgement required by law for immediate access will be presented separately at checkout. The effect of cancellation will depend on the services or digital content already supplied and the rights that apply by law.

7. Membership benefits and learningMembership benefits are described on the relevant membership page. One Welfare CIC may make reasonable changes to benefits, resources, delivery methods or online platforms where necessary to maintain, improve or administer the membership.
Where One Welfare Ambassador membership includes access to the One Welfare Foundation Course or other learning, course access and completion requirements are separate from the right to use the membership badge. A course completion certificate confirms completion of the relevant course only; it is not professional accreditation or certification of competence.

8. Your responsibilities as a memberDuring your membership you agree to:
·       provide accurate information in connection with your membership;
·       communicate your membership status honestly and responsibly;
·       comply with the shared One Welfare principles and any membership-specific commitments presented in the relevant orientation or kit;
·       comply with the One Welfare Membership Badge-use Conditions;
·       avoid statements or conduct that could reasonably mislead others about your authority, accreditation, certification, approval or endorsement by One Welfare CIC; and
·       take responsibility for your own decisions, statements, professional activities, advice, products and services.

9. No authority to act for One Welfare CICMembership does not create an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture or representative relationship with One Welfare CIC. Unless One Welfare CIC has separately authorised you in writing, membership does not authorise you to speak, make commitments, enter into agreements or otherwise act on behalf of One Welfare CIC or One Welfare World.

10. Intellectual property and membership badgesAll rights in the One Welfare name, logos, membership badges, course materials and other intellectual property are owned by, or licensed to, One Welfare CIC or the relevant rights-holder.
Active membership gives you only the limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the membership badge supplied for your current membership level, in accordance with the separate One Welfare Membership Badge-use Conditions. Membership does not provide unrestricted permission to use the main One Welfare logo or other One Welfare intellectual property.

11. Suspension and termination by One Welfare CICOne Welfare CIC may suspend or terminate membership, restrict membership benefits and/or withdraw permission to use a membership badge where a member:
·       materially breaches these Terms or the applicable Badge-use Conditions;
·       seriously or repeatedly misuses the One Welfare name, badge, logo or other intellectual property;
·       makes misleading claims concerning certification, accreditation, approval, supervision or endorsement by One Welfare CIC;
·       provides materially false or misleading information in connection with membership;
·       fails to pay the applicable membership fee; or
·       otherwise materially breaches the commitments applicable to their membership.
Where a breach is capable of being remedied, One Welfare CIC may give the member a reasonable opportunity to correct it. One Welfare CIC may suspend or terminate membership immediately where the breach is serious, repeated, unlawful, or where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect One Welfare CIC, the One Welfare identity, its intellectual property, other members or the wider community.
When membership is suspended or terminated, access to membership benefits may cease. Permission to display or use the membership badge also ends, and the person must stop representing themselves as an active One Welfare Friend or One Welfare Ambassador.

12. Refunds following terminationWhere membership is terminated because of a material breach by the member, membership fees already paid will normally not be refunded, except where required by law or where One Welfare CIC decides that a refund is appropriate in the circumstances.
Where One Welfare CIC terminates a paid membership for reasons unrelated to any breach by the member, One Welfare CIC will normally refund the proportion of the membership fee relating to the unused membership period.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.

13. Responsibility for your own activitiesMembership recognises a relationship with the One Welfare community. It does not constitute professional accreditation, certification of competence, approval, supervision or endorsement of the member, their employer, organisation, research, advice, products, services or activities.
Members remain responsible for their own decisions, statements, communications, professional activities, products and services. One Welfare CIC is not responsible for a member's independent acts, omissions, representations or use or misuse of the One Welfare name or membership badge.

14. Educational information and liabilityOne Welfare learning and membership materials are provided for education, awareness and general information. They are not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, veterinary, financial or other specialist advice where such advice is required.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

15. Privacy and communicationsOne Welfare CIC will process personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Membership administration may require us to contact you about payments, access, renewals, changes to membership terms, badge permissions or other service-related matters.
Privacy Policy: www.onewelfareworld.org/privacy.html

16. Changes to these TermsOne Welfare CIC may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, regulation, technology, membership administration or the One Welfare programme. Material changes will normally apply from your next renewal unless an earlier change is reasonably required by law, security, fraud prevention or to protect One Welfare intellectual property or the community. The version accepted at purchase or renewal will be recorded where the platform supports this.

17. General·       If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
·       A delay by One Welfare CIC in enforcing a right does not waive that right.
·       These Terms, together with the membership information shown at checkout and the applicable Badge-use Conditions, form the agreement governing your membership.

18. Governing law and complaintsThese Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident outside England and Wales, you may also have mandatory rights under the law of your country or place of residence which these Terms do not remove.
If you have a question or complaint about membership, please contact One Welfare CIC first so that we can try to resolve it.
